Gnomes are dwarf-like people, smaller than Elves. They talk in a strange version of Commonspeak, tacking phrases in places that in English would be called ungrammatical, similar to the Star Wars character Yoda. They are experts in maps. Their weapon of choice is usually a thwack hammer.
